Vision and Purpose act as an anchor that guides work being performed on the solutions that comprise the product. Products evolve as the needs of our customers and colleagues evolve. The Vision and Purpose must be kept up to date so that the needs we are striving to meet are continuously reflected.

The Roadmap provides guidance on the priorities for creating features in Me product. It is aligned with the Vision and Purpose of the product. It shows how the work of the teams will he ranked and ordered to deliver the best value to our customers and colleagues, The set of Roadmap items in the most immediate timeframe and their ordering guides the content and ordering of work in the teams' Backlog.

Keeping the Backlog healthy helps to ensure we maximise the value we deliver to our colleagues and customers. The Backlog is aligned with the most immediate timeframe of the Roadmap to ensure we focus on the highest priorities of our stakeholders. Items in the Backlog are refined continuously to ensure there is always sufficient work to consume the capacity of the teams over an agreed short-term planning horizon. The readiness of backlog Items to be worked on is agreed collaboratively . Backlog items that are not ready for work must be further refined.

The ethos of the products we create is to enable our colleagues and customers to self-serve their own needs rather than product teams having to serve customers and colleagues in response to requests. This enables teams to focus on engineering and supporting the product rather than taking time out to service requests from users.

Capability reflects both the capacity and skill level of the team. Our Engineering Capability must be at the right level to enable the delivery of the features described in the most immediate timeframe of the Roadmap. It must also be sufficient to deliver the agreed Quality of Service.

Experimentation Is a key tenet in the adaptive mindset. Experimentation allows us to quickly resolve ambiguous choices in a way that supports our overt bias to action.
